Hanoi

Hanoi is a perfect urban destination - it's just foreign enough to feel exciting, yet welcoming enough to wander alone. The food is fantastic. Come nightfall, any place you can fit a grill and a plastic stool becomes the spot to be, and crowds spill into the street, eating skewers of meat and drinking Hanoi beer. I wandered the labyrinth streets of the old quarter, dodging motor bikes and watching the center of the street transform into an impromptu karaoke performance!
