In the Ngorongoro Crater, we came across two male lions with their lady friends and were fortunate enough to see them mating! The male walked over to the lioness and roared. She raised her tail and he mounted her and bit her neck. The whole act lasted about 60 seconds. After finishing the male strutted around, feeling proud. The lioness rolled on her back, splayed her legs in the air and smoked a cigarette. Then the male came over to her, she rolled upright and they cuddled (aw!) Apparently this gets repeated every 15 minutes! Lions can copulate over 100 times in 24 hours! Is anyone blushing?
